With over 20 years’ experience, our team of Irish engineers has secured Confirmations of Feasibility for thousands of units — from single self-build homes to major developments.
Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) and local authorities recommend confirming the feasibility of a connection before finalising your design or submitting a planning application. The earlier you make contact about a new or amended connection, the easier it is to keep your project on schedule.
In fact, there are thousands of stalled planning permissions and unfinished builds across the country because feasibility for water connections wasn’t assessed at the outset. Submitting a Pre-Connection Enquiry early — even before a planning application is lodged — can prevent these costly delays.
Client completes a simple form (site location, dwelling type/units). No drawings are required at this stage; PreConnect procures the necessary Ordnance Survey maps.
Our engineers handle the hydraulic and effluent calculations and complete the necessary forms ready for submission to Uisce Éireann
We prepare and submit the PCE form to Irish Water. Clients get a secure portal with automated email and SMS updates at each stage.
We can offer additional services such as design vetting, revised plans, and other additional connection application support.
“The team were great — we received a connection offer within 4 weeks instead of the usual 16. That speed saved us a full quarter on the programme.”
“Irish Water originally suggested a connection 120 metres away, which would have required traffic management, road closures, and a road opening licence on a busy route. The engineers at Pre-connection identified an alternative tie-in point, which saved us significant time and money and avoided potential legal complications with neighbours.”
“We needed clarity fast before submiting a planning appliation. The team had our pack ready in under 10 days and managed the process right through to confirmation. It kept our crews moving without delay.”
“I thought I’d need to hire an architect and pay for surveys before even applying. Instead, I just gave the Eircode and they did the rest.”
A Pre-Connection Enquiry is the first step in confirming if your site can connect to public water and wastewater networks. Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) issue a Confirmation of Feasibility (CoF) after reviewing the maps, layouts, and demand/discharge calculations we submit on your behalf.
Without a Confirmation of Feasibility, your planning application risks delays, conditions, or outright refusal. Getting your PCE sorted first gives certainty that services are available — saving you from spending thousands on designs and surveys that may not be viable.
We handle the entire process end-to-end:
We can gather all the information, complete the calculations, and submit your Pre-Connection Enquiry within 7–10 days of receiving your site details.
Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) can take up to 16 weeks to issue a Confirmation of Feasibility. However, in our experience, when everything is submitted correctly, it can often be returned sooner.
If the application isn’t prepared properly, Irish Water will come back with queries — which extends the timeline and delays your project. That’s why getting it right first time is critical.
